Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to lead our EMEA legal team in Madrid, Spain. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgment, and collaborate effectively with senior management, outside counsel, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal
2. Structure, negotiate, and draft complex agreements related to PV products and solutions.
3. Draft and negotiate procurement, operation, maintenance, and inter-company agreements.
4. Advise on security arrangements for large transactions, including letters of credit and guarantees.
5. Communicate legal risks and obligations to relevant teams in China.
6. Ensure compliance with EU laws such as Batteries Regulation and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive.
7. Develop and implement legal policies, processes, and templates.
8. Manage a team of regional commercial lawyers and coordinate with outside counsel.
9. Uphold the highest ethical standards and company policies.

11. Maintain compliance programs, data records, and training within EMEA.
12. Manage anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and KYC processes.
13. Provide compliance advice and prepare reports for senior management.
14. Collaborate on sanctions, cybersecurity, privacy, and conflict of interest issues.
15. Oversee data protection policies in line with GDPR.
16. Qualifications & Skills
17. Qualified commercial lawyer in England & Wales, Spain, France, or Germany.
18. At least 8 years of experience in top-tier law firms or international legal departments, specializing in commercial law.
19. Deep knowledge of cross-border trade, international payment systems, tariffs, duties, and IP laws.
20. Experience in the solar renewables sector, EPC contracts, disputes, or product law is advantageous.
21. Languages
22. Fluent in English and Spanish or German; additional European languages are a plus.
