Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.
ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed preferred network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission line network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV) is the design and construction contractor for ACEREZ.
The Central-West Orana Transmission Project will provide new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.
LocationThe project site is in Merotherie and work is based on a 14/7 roster staying in Camp. Buses will be setup for pickup and drop off points in Sydney, and other regional NSW centres.
About the RoleOur Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Civil Project Engineer to share their expertise within our growing Substation team. In this role, you will coordinate and control engineering works for the ACJV project, including technical, inspection, scheduling, planning, procurement, and quality control activities. You will assist the Area Manager/Construction Manager to ensure the project's safe, on-schedule, and budget-compliant completion.Provide leadership to subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship on and off-site, while driving a commitment to quality standards and proceduresPrioritise completion of outstanding defects, record non-conformances, and initiate corrective actions promptlyEnsure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, assess high-risk activities, and address safety and environmental issues immediatelySupport planning, design suitability, and resource management, ensuring effective project delivery and adherence to performance targetsMonitor and control documentation flow, conduct team meetings, and maintain effective communication with all project stakeholdersSupervise and coordinate resource allocation, fostering teamwork and ensuring all project participants meet contract requirementsManage cost control, budget performance, and subcontractor agreements, ensuring accurate profit/loss forecasting and financial performanceEstablish and maintain a positive relationship with clients to assist project delivery and enhance client satisfactionRequired Skills and CompetenciesPreferably 6+ years engineering experience in construction of infrastructure projects - ideally electricalMinimum 3 years of experience in a Senior Project Engineer roleBachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering)Presented problem solving / analytical skillsDemonstrated relevant leadership skillsWorking knowledge of HS&E requirementsCompetent with cost control of projectsExcellent communication – verbal and writtenProficient in MS Office Package and knowledgeable in budgeting and planning softwareWe welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
