At Melza Recruiting, we are looking for a Senior Accountant & Controller to join a fast-growing startup in the leisure & entertainment sector. This is a key role in the finance team, ensuring financial control, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant & Controller, you will take ownership of financial planning, cash flow management, and internal controls while supporting other departments in improving financial processes. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone eager to build and optimize financial procedures from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure strong financial control and reporting, providing insights to support decision-making.
2. Manage cash flow, treasury, and forecasting, ensuring the company maintains financial stability.
3. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely supplier payments and collections.
4. Implement and optimize financial processes and internal procedures to improve efficiency.
5. Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and investors.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting obligations.
7. Work closely with external partners.
8. Support automation and process improvements to enhance financial operations.
9. Support the HR team with payroll and compensation matters, assisting in payroll management and oversight when needed.
What We’re Looking For
1. 4+ years of experience in a finance or controlling role, preferably in a startup or fast-growing company.
2. Strong hands-on approach, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
3. Experience in treasury management, cash flow control, and financial reporting.
4. Knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
6. Fluency in Spanish and English.
7. Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Excel.
8. Experience in process automation and efficiency improvements is a plus.
