Noxtec Development S.L. is a small company dedicated to produce MedicalDevices. It is part of the Nippon Gases Group, a well known and recognised international company. We design and produce high-technology medical devices destined to the international market.
We are looking for a Research and Development Lead, who will manage product improvements and lead the new development project. The R&D Development Lead will be responsible for the organization and execution of the company development portfolio in the way that is established according to the company Quality Management System.
The R&D Lead will be responsible for the design, development and validation of new devices and the continuous improvement of NOXtec's existing product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Prototyping:
* Participate in the conception and design of new products and subsystems (electronic, mechanical, software/firmware) from the conceptual phase to production.
* Develop and implement functional prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
Testing and Validation:
* Design, plan, and execute rigorous performance, safety, and reliability tests of devices.
* Analyse data, generate detailed technical reports, and propose solutions to problems encountered.
* Ensure verification and validation (V&V) of the design according to functional and regulatory requirements.
Documentation and Regulation:
* Prepare and maintain essential technical documentation for the Design History File (DHF), complying with medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, MDR/FDA).
* Collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs team to ensure regulatory compliance.
Production Support:
* Transfer R&D designs to production, ensuring scalability and manufacturing quality.
* Provide advanced technical support to the Production and Quality teams.
Innovation:
* Actively research new technologies, materials, and methodologies relevant to the inhaled therapies and monitoring device sector.
Job requirements
Requirements:
* Biomedical Engineer or similar university degree. Demonstrated experience in the assembly of electronic and software base devices.
* Demonstrated fluency in English and Spanish, speaking and written.
* Experience in Research and Development (R&D) roles, preferably in the Medical Devices sector or high-precision instrumentation equipment.
* At least 3 years of experience.
* Experience in the product development lifecycle (from concept to launch) and specific Experience in Gas Sensors and Pneumatic Circuits will be a plus.
* Certification or Experience in Medical Device Risk Management.
* Basic knowledge in electronic/PCB design, microcontroller programming, mechanical/CAD design, etc.
* Proficiency in simulation and design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Altium Designer, Autocad, SketchUp, rendering software).
* Familiarity with quality standards and regulations applicable to medical devices (ISO 13485, MDR, etc.).
* Creative, innovative and curious.
* Capable of performing training in Spanish and in English.
* Good written and oral communication skills to communicate with customers and record information.
* Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills including a proven ability to build relationships and to be able to influence at all levels.
