About the Company
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead and coordinate commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through energisation, performance testing and handover. You will manage multi-discipline teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls/SCADA) and ensure safe, compliant, and on-time delivery in line with project requirements, grid codes and client standards.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Own the commissioning strategy, schedule and execution plan across all project systems.
Lead pre-commissioning, cold/hot commissioning, energisation, functional testing and performance testing.
Coordinate commissioning interfaces with construction, QA/QC, HSE, engineering, vendors, DNO/TSO, and client.
Develop and manage key documentation: commissioning plans, ITPs, test packs, method statements, procedures, punch lists, SAT/FAT plans, and handover dossiers.
Chair commissioning meetings, drive weekly progress, remove blockers, and report on milestones and risks.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE, permit-to-work/LOTO, RAMS, and site rules.
Manage system turnover: systemisation, walkdowns, punch categorisation, and readiness for energisation.
Oversee vendor/subcontractor commissioning teams and ensure commissioning resources are aligned to programme.
Lead fault finding and root-cause investigations during commissioning; coordinate corrective actions.
Ensure successful client acceptance and smooth handover to O&M; (including training and as-built documentation).
Qualifications
Requirements (Essential):
Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager / Commissioning Lead on large-scale energy/infrastructure projects.
Strong multi-discipline knowledge: Electrical / Controls / Mechanical commissioning and system interfaces.
Solid understanding of systemisation, completion, turnover and handover processes.
Excellent planning and stakeholder management skills; able to drive delivery under pressure.
High safety leadership standards and experience working under PTW/LOTO environments.
Fluent in commissioning documentation and reporting (test packs, procedures, punch lists, handover packs).
Required Skills
Qualifications (Preferred):
Engineering qualification (Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation/Controls) or equivalent experience.
SMSTS/SSSTS or equivalent (preferred), plus recognised HSE qualification.
Experience with grid compliance, HV energisation, SCADA/EMS, protection relays, and DNO/TSO interfaces (sector-dependent).
OEM/vendor commissioning exposure (GE/Siemens/Hitachi/ABB etc.) is a plus.

Working Conditions:
Site-based role (rotation/shift pattern project dependent).
Travel may be required depending on project phase and vendor support.
