Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Contract Manager/Claim Consultant in the construction sector, based in East Africa.
Responsibilities
* Managing contracts throughout project lifecycles
* Identifying and mitigating risks
* Providing advice to clients on contractual obligations
* Supporting claim preparation and dispute resolution
* Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations, claims, and commercial agreements while adhering to legal and regulatory standards
* Collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or master's in Civil Engineering
* Open to relocation in East Africa
* 8 to 10 years of experience as a Contract Manager or Claim Consultant in the construction industry
* Proficient in English at a professional level
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and industry-specific regulations
* Expertise in claim management, including analysis, preparation, and negotiation
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and assess complex contractual issues
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders
* Ideal qualifications: MRICS, CIOB, or CIArb
