DIGIC is an Annie Award winning animation studio with more than 20 years of history, based in Budapest, Hungary. It has made its reputation with high-end 3D animation for feature films, and commercials within the video game industry. DIGIC is best known for creating fine details and realistic characters as well as world-class rendering in the production of the animated shorts.
Our team is currently working on several high-profile projects, including the animated film series based on the world-famous card game Magic: The Gathering for Netflix!
We are looking for CHARACTER SURFACING ARTIST s to join our team as long-term employees or freelancers!
Responsibilities
Texturing and shading of realistic and/or stylized characters and props, in accordance with the particular project’s references, style and various artistic attributes.
Essential skills
- At least 2 years of experience as Surfacing Artist or in a similar position
- You must have experience in working on animation projects with a stylized, painterly rendering style! Please make sure to present samples of such works in your portfolio!
- Advanced observation and analytical skills
- Proficiency in creating digital art with Adobe Photoshop or similar software
- Knowledge of Substance Painter / Mari
- Proficiency in using Maya software
- Experience in / knowledge of CGI lighting, compositing, familiarity with Arnold or similar (Vray, Maxwell, etc.) renderer tool
- Zbrush experience
- Knowledge of PBR workflow
- Confidence in using shaders and parameters
- Ability to create artwork based on references
- Willingness to share knowledge with others
