Job Title:
Category Manager - FMCG
We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to join our FMCG multinational company. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in category management within the FMCG sector and be fluent in English.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze market, customer, and channel trends, issues, opportunities, and competitor activity. Communicate findings regularly to marketing and business unit stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
2. Define local category growth strategies based on market understanding. Develop marketing strategies and joint business plans to fuel growth engines.
3. Create compelling category growth stories to establish thought leadership and strengthen customer partnerships.
4. Establish clear guidelines for commercial drivers across categories, channels, and brands.
5. Identify top-performing portfolios and optimal assortments by channel, setting distribution targets.
6. Develop shopper-based shelving and placement strategies, including primary and secondary placements with specific objectives per channel.
7. Collaborate with RGM managers to translate pricing strategies into Price Pack Architecture and promotional strategies at brand and SKU levels.
8. Monitor and evaluate guidelines regularly using relevant KPIs, in collaboration with brand teams and KAMs.
9. Co-own strategies and plans for in-store advertising and promotion with brand teams, covering both brick-and-mortar and e-retail channels.
10. Participate in demand reviews, providing insights into sales volumes, net sales, and spending, while anticipating risks and opportunities.
11. Identify and share best practices to enhance team performance.
12. Partner with Key Account, Field Sales, Consumer Marketing teams, and other functions including Global Teams, Finance, Supply, and Quality.
13. Report to the Sales Strategy and Planning Director.
14. Support sales transformation initiatives by working cross-functionally and with customers to develop strategic plans.
15. Analyze long-term trade and category trends, including changes in customer behavior, merchandising, and emerging channels.
16. Demonstrate category excellence through deep knowledge and long-term vision, developing cross-category strategies and initiatives.
17. Utilize data effectively to evaluate strategies' performance, establish KPIs, and propose incentives to drive growth and efficiency.
18. Lead and accelerate transformation initiatives, fostering agility, innovation, collaboration, and talent development.
