Role Overview
The Sr. Analyst Pricing will support the Infrastructure Pricing Manager in implementing improvement opportunities aligned with Kennametal’s Infrastructure organization objectives. The role involves analysis to troubleshoot pricing issues, identify and implement solutions, and establish preventive measures to sustain improvements. It requires strong cross-functional collaboration, including engagement with Regional Sales, Leadership, Global Product Management, and Customer Service teams.
Team Focus
The Infrastructure Pricing Team drives Value-Based Pricing and develops infrastructure pricing strategies, conducts price/market analysis at various levels, and implements solutions supporting strategic objectives. The team manages global pricing processes for standard products, custom solutions, and services, engaging with Product Management, Sales, and Regional Leaders.
Responsibilities
* Understand pricing rules and processes across Infrastructure locations.
* Proactively assess pricing requests for compliance with business guidelines.
* Develop, update, and maintain customer price model structures.
* Conduct pricing and profitability analyses to support margin goals.
* Apply pricing policies consistently and provide explanations for decisions.
* Research and resolve pricing discrepancies and disputes.
* Evaluate list prices, discounts, concessions, and contractual obligations for optimization.
* Analyze price and margin performance reports.
* Support pricing projects and teams with relevant data and insights.
* Ensure data integrity in pricing systems and support improvements.
* Participate in designing and testing new pricing systems and reports.
* Lead cross-functional training for new solutions.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or math/statistics with 3-5 years of experience.
* Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify trends in large datasets.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in global teams.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros) and familiarity with Office 365, Power BI.
* Knowledge of data modeling and pricing tools.
* Experience in pricing, profitability analysis, or product management in B2B industries.
* Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
* Experience in project management.
* Fluent in English.
