PRIVATE - Oyster 885 - Captain & Chef or Stew Couple
STARTING MAY, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Captain/Engineer and Chef (or Stew) couple to join a newly refitted Oyster 885.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with first-time yacht owners who are familiar with life on the water. As frequent charterers with a sailing background, they are excited to learn more about the adventures of owning their own boat with an experienced team. They are a warm, down-to‐earth young family with children, looking for a crew who will integrate seamlessly into their lifestyle and enjoy being part of family-oriented cruising.
Running with a professional crew of four, this yacht will be cruising the Mediterranean for the summer season. The owning family will be coming on board regularly for cruises. The longer term, more detailed itinerary will be confirmed once the Captain joins the boat. At this stage, plans are open for the winter season.
The ideal team will be accustomed to working on this sized vessel and / or larger and have a positive, proactive, team‐player mindset. They will have a genuine enjoyment of working with and around children and flexibility and willingness to get involved in family activities enabling a fun atmosphere on board.
Requirements
Captain / Engineer
- Strong sailing background essential (could be stepping up from first mate on larger sailing vessels)
- Hands‐on approach to engineering and maintenance
- Confident leader with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a family‐oriented environment
Chef option
- Ability to produce fresh, healthy, family‐style meals with creativity
Stew option
- Strong service and housekeeping skills
- Happy to assist with children and family activities
