Kreios Space is building the next generation of satellite for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). We are looking for a Satellite Operations Engineer to help define, prepare and execute mission operations for satellites flying closer to Earth than conventional platforms. In this role, you will contribute across the full operational lifecycle, from mission preparation and validation on ground to launch, early operations, commissioning and routine in-orbit activities.
You will work hands‑on with flight operations concepts, procedures, telemetry analysis and operational planning, while collaborating closely with systems, software and mission teams. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex mission concepts into safe, disciplined and scalable operations in a demanding technical environment.

What you will do
- Own the definition, planning and execution of spacecraft operations for VLEO missions.
- Prepare operational concepts, timelines, procedures and command sequences for nominal and off-nominal scenarios.
- Contribute to launch, early operations and commissioning activities, including readiness preparation and anomaly response support.
- Monitor spacecraft telemetry and assess platform and payload health, performance and trends.
- Work with mission analysis and systems engineering teams to translate mission objectives into practical operational constraints and workflows.
- Collaborate with flight software and ground segment teams to validate operational tools, interfaces and automation scripts.
- Support simulation campaigns, integrated tests and mission rehearsals before flight.
- Develop contingency procedures, operational checklists and mission documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations processes, data review methods and console practices.
- Coordinate operational inputs with external partners when needed, including ground segment and mission support providers.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or a similar technical discipline.
- Solid understanding of spacecraft architecture, subsystems and mission operations principles.
- Experience in satellite operations, mission preparation, AIV, system validation or a comparable hands‑on space environment.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB or similar scripting and analysis tools.
- Comfort working with multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast‑moving development context.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of operational topics from definition to execution.
Nice to have
- Experience with mission analysis or orbit simulation tools such as STK or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ECSS, CCSDS or other applicable space standards.
- Exposure to ground segment infrastructure, TT&C; systems or mission control environments.
- Experience supporting launch and early orbit operations, commissioning or real‑time console activities.
- Familiarity with Earth observation or telecommunications mission concepts.
- Understanding of the constraints associated with VLEO missions, such as atmospheric drag, lifetime management and highly iterative operational planning.
- Experience with automation, data pipelines or internal tooling for operations teams.
¿Por qué nosotros?
- Work on missions that aim to make long‑duration VLEO operations a reality.
- Be part of a highly technical team developing spacecraft and enabling technologies with direct mission impact.
- Take ownership early and contribute across the full mission lifecycle, from preparation to in‑orbit execution.
- Grow in a fast‑evolving environment where initiative, technical depth and collaboration are genuinely valued.
- Join a company that is building ambitious space technology from Galicia with an international outlook.
- Contribute to a culture based on respect, inclusion, accountability and shared ambition.
