The Position
A skilled Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys and thrives in solving a wide range of business problems with technology in creative and effective ways.
They are T-shape engineers. They have in-depth knowledge in one of the spaces in their Infrastructure technology area and a working knowledge of at least another space in the Infrastructure technology. They have a high-level understanding of how the IT infrastructure they are responsible for impacts Roche business processes.
They contribute to delivery in challenging projects which require deep technical knowledge and skills in their areas of responsibility.
They are responsible for the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
They apply a complete understanding of theories and concepts from one’s technical/professional discipline to independently address a broad range of difficult problems.
Knowledge and understanding in designing and implementing test driven infrastructure continuous deployment pipelines and Infrastructure as Code technologies.
Job Responsibilities
1. To ensure technology designs in their respective infrastructure technology space align and adhere to the organization’s architecture technical strategy, policies, standards and direction
2. To ensure technologies implemented comply Quality/Regulatory standards, as applicable
3. Knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service applying Scrum and Agile methodologies
4. To provide technical recommendations and contribute to best practices, position papers, and white papers for the infrastructure technologies and the use cases for their respective technology areas
5. To stay aware of operational challenges and opportunities; works with support team staff to provide internal escalation support as needed to contribute to the resolution of incidents and major incidents
6. To produce and maintain sufficient documentation for the designs, design patterns, and component standards created or maintained
7. Able to work autonomously and/or under supervision of more senior peers and capable to lead technically small technology teams, mentor/lead individuals in workgroup providing guidance to less experienced personnel
8. To contribute to the end-to-end design of infrastructure technologies and the creation and maintenance of related standards
9. To evaluate across two or more areas promising technologies via proofs of concept (PoCs) within their technology domain and assess their feasibility in meeting Roche’s business needs
10. To architect (as solution architect) to design, build, test and implement (first-time deployments) integrated, resilient and reliable technologies in his/her respective technology area
11. To serve as consultant to internal/external stakeholders on technical matters

Education / Years of Experience
5 – 7 Years of relevant work experience.
or 3 – 5 Years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
At least 3+ years experience of working in one or more multinational work environments (Healthcare Industry experience a plus) as an Engineer/Technical team member.
Technology Skills
20. Endpoint Infrastructure Engineer with focus on design around Windows, it will be considered as a plus other platform like Mac and iOS.
21. Working knowledge of Azure Cloud, EMM, MAM and MDM solutions with focus on inTune. It will be considered as a plus, other MDM like Mobileiron, Airwatch or JamfPro.
22. Experience in network/security architectures required for a proper integration of the MDM design.
23. Scripting proficiency in Python / Powershell is a plus, and knowledge of Infrastructure as code.
24. Packaging experience and understanding, Microsoft Auto Update.
25. Understanding and knowledge about ITSM/ITIL (Change management etc)
26. Technical problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
27. Ability to prioritize and manage work day tasks.
Advantage to have certifications like: MSCE / O365 related / ITIL certification.
