The AI Lab, part of HP's Technology and Innovation Office, brings state-of-the-art research in Generative AI to HP's product portfolio.
\n
The team operates from Sant Cugat (ESP) and Palo Alto (US).
\n
We seek a Junior Machine Learning Engineer with expertise and passion in the Gen AI space to research, develop generative AI models, build proof-of-concept prototypes, and collaborate with scientists, developers, and product managers to move technologies to product.
\n
Responsibilities
\n
Help execute the technical strategy of the AI Lab with the goal of supporting HP's ambitious AI roadmap.
\n
Support the application of new processes and standards to ensure that the teams are building high quality and safe models.
\n
Develop tooling to support the model lifecycle and encourage the use of best practices.
\n
Adopt state-of-the-art Gen AI modelling (finetuning) and evaluation techniques.
\n
Help develop strategic engineering proofs of concept in the Gen AI space.
\n
Education & Experience
\n
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Data Science, or any other related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
\n
MSc related to Generative AI would be a plus.
\n
0–3 years of work experience; internships related to the role are valuable.
\n
Exposure to Gen AI in previous projects or internships.
\n
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and learn with agility.
\n
Knowledge & Skills
\n
Proficiency in Python (certification preferred); experience in C++ or C# is a plus.
\n
Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, generative AI and statistical modelling.
\n
Experience with finetuning or evaluation of generative AI and machine learning models (LLMs, LVMs).
\n
Experience leveraging models from repositories such as Hugging Face.
\n
Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
\n
Optional: Contributions to the AI community (publications, patents, open-source projects, conferences, workshops).
\n
