Procurement Category Manager
The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for managing critical materials and services agreements and procurement strategies in Southern Europe, impacting the Package, Bulk, and Traded Gases/Raw Material business.
This role involves leading the development, negotiation, implementation, and sustainment of commodities strategies within scope, aligned with business objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement commodities strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Prioritize projects with stakeholders including supply chain, customer engineering, and hospitals business.
* Serve as a single point of contact for Package Business, Traded Business, and other SE commodity.
* Develop market intelligence and knowledge for respective commodities and business areas.
* Create benchmarks for market conditions to understand pricing trends, market knowledge, demand/capacity constraints, and financial stability of suppliers.
* Participate in service level review agreements for major existing contracts with suppliers and resolve commercial issues.
* Define strategy to reduce sole sources and implement it.
* Lead and resolve supplier conflicts related to poor service or performance of suppliers.
* Manage supplier service level agreements and enhance performance through supplier management programs.
* Conduct RFP, RFQ events, market research, supplier risk evaluation.
* Review terms and conditions and commercial terms for new contracts, working with legal team to mitigate commercial and legal risks.
* Process purchase orders and agreements, manage invoice issues, and commercial issues related to specific orders/agreements.
* Identify areas for improvement in procurement to pay process and implement required changes.
* Ensure compliance with local, regional, and global agreements and procedures.
* Support and lead procurement M&A activities when required.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Engineering discipline.
* Proven experience in defining, leading, and developing sourcing strategies, understanding purchasing terms and conditions, and commercial acumen.
* SAP EPR knowledge required.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
* Self-starter capable of taking ownership of issues and resolving them.
* Excellent written and oral Spanish and English language skills; French and Portuguese language skills are advantageous.
* Location: Office-based with some travel required to visit suppliers and company sites.
* Drive car license required.
* Countries served: Spain, Portugal, Northern Africa, Italy.
