Consumer ML team delivers Machine Learning solutions to build resilient and scalable consumer products. Our mission is to power ML-optimized user experiences across our consumer surfaces.
What you’ll do
1. Use Affirm’s proprietary and other third party data to develop machine learning models that personalize and optimize consumer experience across all Affirm surfaces
2. Partner with platform and product engineering teams to build model training, decisioning, and monitoring systems
3. Research ground breaking solutions and develop prototypes that drive the future of Consumer ML at Affirm
4. Implement and scale data pipelines, new features, and algorithms that are essential to our production models
5. Collaborate with the engineering, business, and product teams to define requirements for new products
6. On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement
What we look for
7. Proficiency in machine learning with experience in areas such as Generalized Linear Models, Gradient Boosting, Deep Learning, and Probabilistic Calibration. Domain knowledge in consumer experience, learning to rank, and personalization is a plus
8. 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
9. Strong engineering skills in Python and data manipulation skills like SQL
10. Experience using distributed systems like Spark or Ray is a plus
11. Experience using open source projects and software such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, XGBoost, Kubeflow
12. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the capability to drive cross-functional requirements with product and engineering teams
13. The ability to present technical concepts and results in an audience-appropriate way

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Grade - ESP30
Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
ESP base pay range per year:
Min: €71,700
Mid: €89,600
Max: €107,500
