Data Scientist (Quant Focus)Location: Madrid (Office-based, 5 days/week)Salary: €70,000 – €90,000About the RoleWe are looking for a highly analytical Data Scientist with a strong quantitative and mathematical background to join our Madrid team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, building predictive models, and translating data into strategic business decisions.You will work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to design and deploy data-driven solutions that create measurable impact.Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and deploy predictive and statistical models to solve real business problems- Apply advanced mathematical and quantitative techniques to large, complex datasets- Perform exploratory data analysis and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and feature engineering workflows- Collaborate with engineering teams to productionise machine learning models- Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy and robustness- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and measurable metricsRequired Experience & Qualifications- 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar quantitative role- BSc degree from a Top 300 global university in a quantitative discipline such as:- Mathematics- Statistics- Physics- Computer Science- Engineering- Quantitative Economics or similar- Strong foundation in:- Probability theory and statistics- Linear algebra and calculus- Optimization techniques- Strong programming skills in Python (required)- Experience with common data science and ML tools (e.G. pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)- Experience working with SQL and large datasets- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesNice to Have- Experience with time-series modelling or forecasting- Experience in fintech, tech, e-commerce, or high-growth environments- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)- Experience deploying models into production (MLOps practices)Working Model- Full-time, office-based in Madrid (5 days per week)- Collaborative, fast-paced, and data-driven environmentCompensation & Benefits- Salary: €70,000 – €90,000 depending on experience- Opportunity to work on impactful, high-visibility projects- Career growth in a strong data and engineering culture
