Job Description
The Performance Management Officer holds a pivotal position, entrusted with supervising the efficient execution of the growth plan to reach 1,6Mt production level & development of the business unit.
Central to the role is the establishment of a structured performance monitoring framework. The Performance Management Officer serves as the control tower, ensuring proper progress control to the CEO and Management Committee of the Business unit (BU) regarding the evolution of the growth plan.
Your role:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Sestao cluster’s CEO, ensuring the effective delivery of the Business unit's growth plan.
- Responsible for leading or facilitating the identification, prioritization, implementation, and review of key improvement opportunities/projects to enhance operational performance for the BU.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement (provide guidance and support to team leaders, ensuring adherence to performance management best practices).
- Define and implement performance management reporting and best practices to ensure consistent action tracking and follow-up.
- Establish performance governance frameworks, including prioritization and resource management strategies, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as necessary (proactively flag obstacles).
- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels in the BU to establish clear project objectives, monitor progress.
- Create excitement instead of resistance.
- The role reports to the CEO, with a dotted line to the Head of Finance.

PMO responsibilities
- Based on input from CEO and MC, define list of initiatives to be managed via action plans meaning (1) detailed description of the issues / opportunities to be addressed, (2) categorized list of metrics, (3) impact of initiative both financial and non-financial consequences, (4) assumptions with hypotheses, (5)resources with implementation requirements, (6) target dates, (7)risks with identification, assessment and potential mitigation plans.
- Structure & develop in the BU a Value Plan based on the best practices from other clusters. Put in place key KPI’s, define the governance and animate teams. Define & develop the IT tool to track and manage all initiatives (such as Promato).
- Develop best practice sharing with other units in ArcelorMittal.
- Provide to CEO and MC feedback and follow up of all agreed initiatives, alert on deviations.
- Support CEO managing and updating all key operational dashboards which are not provided by Finance to be able to report to ArcelorMittal Europe.
- Have all the Capex files correctly managed with clear definition, business plans challenged, financials, pilots and deadlines.
