Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in Santander, Spain. This is a full-time, on-site position for a skilled professional with a strong background in designing and simulating mechanical elements of space vehicles. You will play a key role in developing advanced solutions for space applications, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts.
As a Design and Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, modelling, and simulation of spacecraft structures and mechanisms. You will utilize advanced CAD and FEA tools to ensure the performance, reliability, and compliance of our products with industry standards.
Responsibilities
Design and model mechanical components and assemblies for space vehicles.
Perform finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to validate performance and structural integrity.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reports and simulation results.
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize designs and resolve technical challenges.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of design and simulation processes.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and simulating mechanical and thermal elements for space vehicles or related aerospace applications.
Industrial experience in designing pressurised vessels, e.g. submarines, aircraft, habitable modules for space.
Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing applied to space technology.
Knowledge of characterization of materials for Space.
Proficiency in SolidEdge, CATIA, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
Proficiency in NX Femap with Nastran or similar FEA tools for structural.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles as applied to space systems.
BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Fluency in English is desirable.
Thermal analysis and design experience is a desirable asset.
Availability to work on-site in Santander, Spain, in a full-time capacity.
