An opportunity for a Machines & Systems Engineer has arisen within Airbus Operations, Illescas (Toledo). The selected candidate will join the Machinery & Automation Team. Our mission is to provide cutting‑edge automated systems for composite part manufacturing, ensuring excellence in delivery, quality, and cost. The team is multidisciplinary and transnational, focusing on the definition and implementation of complex robotics and Industry 4.0 solutions to maintain our plant at the forefront of aeronautical technology.
Responsibilities
- Deliver machines and technical systems: develop innovative concepts for machines/robots and technical systems.
- Establish the necessary specifications/requirements for machines and technical systems.
- Define technical contents of the machines/robots and technical systems CapEx file and perform cost estimation.
- Contribution/support to the procurement process in relation to all technical aspects.
- Planning, steering and monitoring of the project’s approval, commitment, cash flow and internal engineering cost by periodical reviews with the machine/robot project leader and functional leaders (contractual milestones: KOM, PDR, CDR, CISS, CIPS, R&R follow‑up).
- Support actively the APTs.
- Manage the introduction of changes on machines/robots and technical systems in the plant.
- Keep informed on machines/robots and technical systems changes and process changes related to the supported processes in the plant.
- Support Maintenance Department with technical expertise to ensure the reliability of the manufacturing cell implemented.
- Follow FU.IN.03.03 (Specify and Qualify Machines and Systems) standard.
- Deliver R&T projects: propose to R&T topics to be developed, aligned with AI strategy.
- Guarantee the fulfillment of deliverables for R&T programs within the approved budget and on time working in close collaboration with the partner and R&T centres.
- Contribute and participate in maturity assessments through the alpha and beta gates.
- Digitalisation, innovative and big‑data projects in machines and technical systems.
- Implementation of Industry 4.0 at plant level in machines and technical systems.
- Contribute to the transnational harmonisation and alignment of manufacturing machinery & automation and cooperate with other plants through the OMI network in all the A/C life cycle (from R&T, through development and serial phase improvement and support).
- Participate in best‑practice identification and promote local implementation.
- Establish an international mindset in the team and promote partnering and synergies.
Skills
- Mechanical and machines technical background.
- Composite materials knowledge.
- Project management experience (transversal and transnational).
- PLC programming will be a plus.
- Artificial intelligence & data analytics basic skill will be appreciated.
