Overview
Research Assistant Professor in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute, School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong. The appointment is a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee research projects related to vaccine development for influenza and other respiratory diseases.
* Supervise junior research staff and work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
* Manage and contribute to project activities funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust or other foundations.
* Engage in both quantitative and qualitative research activities, data analysis, and reporting.
* Represent the institute in collaborative efforts and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
* PhD in biological or medical sciences or related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experience in virology, microbiology, and/or immunology.
* Prior experience in conducting animal research is preferred.
* Strong quantitative and qualitative research background with a proven track record.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
* Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience with trust-initiated/foundation-funded projects is highly desirable.
