Position: Financial Controller
Location: On-site role based in Madrid with occasional trips to Sweden
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in Big 4 and/or the pharmaceutical industry; experience in generic pharma is strongly preferred.
Global Responsibility
We are looking for a Financial Controller – to support financial performance management across Northern Europe. Based on-site in Madrid and reporting to the FP&A Manager, this role will drive high-quality financial planning, reporting and business insights, ensuring accurate performance tracking and supporting decision-making across the Generics organization.
Specific Responsibilities
* Own and coordinate the planning cycle for the region (budget, forecast updates, long-range planning where applicable).
* Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting packs (P&L, OPEX, KPIs), ensuring accuracy, timeliness and clarity.
* Perform variance analysis vs. budget/forecast/prior year; identify drivers and provide actionable recommendations.
* Act as a finance business partner for Northern Europe stakeholders, supporting performance reviews and commercial/operational initiatives.
* Support month-end activities from a controlling perspective, liaising with accounting teams to ensure robust accruals and correct performance recognition.
* Maintain and improve financial models, dashboards and reporting automation using SAP, SAP BPC and Power BI.
* Ensure consistent application of internal controlling standards and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and data quality.
* Support ad-hoc analyses (profitability, cost efficiency, scenario analysis) as required by management.
Requirements and personal skills
* Minimum 4 years of experience in Big 4 and/or the pharmaceutical industry; experience in generic pharma is strongly preferred.
* Solid controlling/FP&A background with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Advanced user of MS Office (especially Excel).
* Hands-on experience with SAP, SAP BPC and Power BI.
* High level of English (professional fluency). Nordic languages are not required but a plus.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
