Purpose of the role :
This role provides legal services and support across European countries including Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Netherlands, and the BEMEA legal team. It combines commercial and industrial legal work, requiring close collaboration with business management to understand their strategies, challenges, and opportunities.
Main Accountabilities :
* Management : Oversee relevant legal team members within the region.
* Commercial Documentation : Draft and review commercial contracts used in Bunge's business.
* Corporate : Manage legal requirements for corporate entities within the region.
* Disputes : Provide pre-litigation advice, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlements to minimize risks.
* Litigation case management : Handle arbitration/litigation cases, instruct external counsel, and evaluate case merits.
* Transactional work : Support business transactions like M&A, joint ventures, etc.
* Compliance : Ensure adherence to laws and internal policies.
* Business Relationship : Develop partnerships with business teams, understanding their environment and addressing issues proactively.
* Legal Support Technology : Support the use of legal tech tools like Docusign and trackers.
* Representation : Represent the organization before authorities and agencies; stay updated on legislative changes.
What are we looking for :
10+ years of experience in an international law firm or as an in-house attorney in a multinational, with expertise in corporate, commercial, regulatory, industrial, M&A, and agreements. The candidate should be proactive, inquisitive, and business-oriented, able to work autonomously and collaboratively across regions, with attention to detail and adaptability to an international environment.
