About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedTerminal Operations Managerto lead our terminal’s customer service, customs compliance, and operational excellence. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders, while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as the primary liaison for terminal customers, ensuring prompt and effective service delivery.
2. Lead and oversee customs operations, ensuring full compliance withTemporary Storage Facility (ADT)andAuthorized Economic Operator (AEO)regulations.
3. Champion a strongHSSE(Health, Safety, Security & Environment) culture through regular safety talks and site walks.
4. Negotiate and manage service agreements with shipping lines, customs agents, trucking companies, and port authorities.
5. Resolve customer issues by collaborating with Operations, Planning, and Finance departments.
6. Maintain proactive communication with clients, manage service quality, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
7. SuperviseGateandContainer Freight Station (CFS)operations, ensuring procedural compliance and process optimization.
8. Define, monitor, and reportKPIs, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions usingLean Methodology.
9. Contribute to budget planning, invoicing, and financial performance monitoring.
10. Set priorities, structure tasks, and align team goals with organizational objectives.
11. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
12. Bachelor’s degree inLogistics, Maritime/Port Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
13. Specialized training or certification inCustoms, ADT, orInternational Tradeis preferred.
14. Certification from theSpanish Tax Agency (AEAT)in customs and tax law isrequired.
15. Minimum5 yearsof experience in terminal operations management.
16. Strong knowledge ofcontainer shipping,port regulations, andcustoms documentation.
17. Proficiency interminal management systems,Microsoft Office, andERP platforms(e.g., Salesforce).
18. Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
19. Fluent inEnglish and Spanish.
