The primary role of a teacher is to provide students with educational activities that foster their growth. Teachers will help students develop necessary skills for society.
Instructional Strategies
* Design, write, and implement lesson plans aligned with the charter’s curriculum, reviewed by the dean of academics
* Modify lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles
* Teach according to California Department of Education guidelines, charter policies, and regulations
* Use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials to meet student needs
* Use data from student assessments to inform instruction
* Collaborate on IEPs with special education staff
* Coordinate with staff on instructional goals and methods
* Oversee teacher aides and volunteers
* Utilize technology to enhance instruction
* Assist students in improving study methods and habits
* Administer assessments to evaluate student success
* Manage extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities
Classroom Management and Organization
* Prepare classroom environment conducive to learning and development
* Manage student behavior according to the student handbook
* Ensure safety and proper use of equipment and facilities
* Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff
* Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community
Other Responsibilities
* Engage in professional development
* Stay updated on regulations and policies
* Manage reports and documentation
* Participate in faculty meetings and committees
Position salary ranges from $61,000 to $85,000 per year. Requirements include a relevant degree, California teaching credential, and qualifications in core subjects, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
