As Senior Marketing Manager - Automation, you will play a critical role in shaping how Align communicates with customers across the full lifecycle by designing, building, and scaling automated, data-driven, omnichannel journeys. Ensuring the right message reaches the right audience at the right time, through the right channel, with strong alignment to business priorities and brand standards.
This role sits at the intersection of marketing communications and marketing technology, ensuring that strategy, execution, and technology come together to deliver impactful, measurable customer experiences across EMEA.
You will bridge the gap between communication strategy and technical execution. Improve efficiency, visibility, and performance of marketing journeys. Support Align’s digital transformation by embedding automation at the core of customer engagement.
Role expectations
The Sr. Marketing Automation Manager is responsible for translating communication and campaign strategies into automation frameworks, enabling consistent, personalized, and compliant customer engagement at scale.
This includes:
* Translate communication strategy into automated journey logic, content sequencing, and omnichannel orchestration in partnership with regional marketing, sales, and cross-functional stakeholders.
* Own end-to-end design, build, launch, and optimization of automated customer journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Automation Studio).
* Build and manage lifecycle, nurture, re-engagement, and transactional journeys triggered by Salesforce CRM data (Leads, Contacts, Campaigns, Activities, Ownership).
* Ensure communications are delivered at the right moment, channel, and context, aligned with brand, business objectives, and customer lifecycle stage.
* Design and maintain CloudPages (landing pages, Smart Capture, preference/unsubscribe pages) to support campaigns and journey activation.
* Translate business and communication requirements into clear technical specifications and scalable automation frameworks.
* Lead cross-functional automation projects end-to-end, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and risks with Marketing, Sales, IT, and agencies.
* Define, monitor, and optimize KPIs for communications and journeys (engagement, conversion, funnel progression, efficiency).
What we're looking for
We are looking for a strategic, hands‑on marketing automation leader who thrives in complex, fast‑paced, matrixed environments and is passionate about delivering customer‑centric experiences through technology.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Technology, or related field.
* 6-10 years of experience in marketing, CRM, marketing automation, or digital communications roles.
* 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including:
o Journey Builder
o Automation Studio
o Data Extensions and Contact Builder
* Experience owning communications programs across channels.
* Experience with Marketing Cloud, SQL for segmentation, Cloud Pages, AMPscript and dynamic personalization.
* Working knowledge of CRM ideally Salesforce (Lead & Contact data model, Campaigns, ownership, activities).
* The ideal candidate has project management experience, managing multiple initiatives with cross‑functional stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
* Fluency in English (additional European languages are a plus).
