Head of Function :
Set a vision for long-term organizational success at the global/regional business level and implement strategic plans. Oversee the development and execution of objectives, plans, and policies, ensuring continuous improvement in Deutsche Bank’s competitive position and performance. Responsible for financial success through budget planning, management, and P&L oversight. Maintain key internal and external business relationships. Ensure alignment with the DB risk management framework, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Represent the function in senior forums and committees.
Role Responsibilities :
Independent Risk Management: Participate actively in formulating the risk strategy. Challenge management on issues and the development and implementation of this strategy.
Leadership Responsibilities :
Promote company values and ethical standards, ensuring team compliance. Lead in people management and development. Empower, coach, and mentor team members, holding them accountable for best practices. Foster collaboration across teams to generate ideas and recommendations. Drive high performance through career management, succession planning, and talent development. Act as a role model, communicate SMART objectives, and conduct performance reviews. Make tough people decisions to align performance with organizational needs.
Position-specific Leadership Responsibilities :
Promote a risk-aware culture and effective risk governance within DB Iberia. Develop and manage risk reporting for Board decision-making. Participate in senior management discussions, challenge management on issues, and contribute to risk strategy development.
Skills :
Risk & Regulatory Experience : Extensive experience in risk measurement, monitoring, compliance, and management within banking, including testing and reporting deficiencies. Knowledge of regulations such as Bank of Spain and Basel IV, products, processes, systems, and risk analytics. Experience in credit risk, strategy, business planning, and regulatory implications in Spain and Europe.
Leadership Experience : Managing risk teams in financial institutions, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
Qualifications : Recognized risk qualification (IRM Certificate or equivalent) and a degree in economics, law, or related fields.
Soft Skills : High standards, discretion, networking, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex priorities under pressure.
