We’re seeking an experienced Java Senior Software Engineer to join our Transport area in Barcelona or Porto (hybrid) to help customers reach their destination by finding the best travel deals, combining more than 700 airlines and 100.000 flights worldwide every day to offer millions of combinations in real time of different products, like flights, trains and hotels.
\n
What you will do
\n
As a Java Senior Software Engineer, you will:
\n
- Build and evolve our Flights Search/Booking/PostBooking Domain microservices platform, powering more than 2.5 billion searches per month and providing the best airline offers in more than 40 countries.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and improvement of software in a continuous delivery and cloud-based environment (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP).
- Deliver high-quality code with attention to testability and maintainability, and identify opportunities for technical investments to help the team meet objectives.
- Lead and participate in code reviews, architecture reviews and mentoring to grow team skills.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to align on requirements and deliver solutions.

Qualifications
\n
- Experience in a senior engineer role driving technical work for other engineers and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Ability to provide technical guidance for complex initiatives and deliver strategic technical improvements, including code structure and architecture.
- Proven track record delivering projects with high complexity and multiple stakeholders, with monitoring and risk mitigation.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex ideas to both technical and business audiences, and to establish alignment within the organization.
- Willingness to continuously learn and expand skill sets.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team.
- Fluent English to work in a multicultural environment (teams from multiple nationalities).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Applied AI Tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) in practical software development contexts.
- Experimentation mindset to explore and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to debug code and improve development productivity.
- Adaptability and learning agility to quickly adopt new AI features.
- Experience or interest in collaborating with AI tools as pair programmers.
