Role OverviewThe Accounting Policies team is responsible for shaping and maintaining the International Accounting Policies of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group under IFRS, while driving key accounting initiatives and high‐impact projects across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to work at the center of complex accounting matters, influence Group‐wide decisions, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across an international environment. You will become part of an international and highly visible team with direct exposure to complex accounting topics, senior stakeholders and strategic projects that shape the future of the organization.
Tasks
Shape and further develop the IFRS accounting policies of the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization
Act as the Group's key point of contact for complex recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosure matters under IFRS
Partner closely with international entities and cross‐functional teams to support the implementation of new accounting standards
Analyze and assess complex accounting transactions and prepare technical accounting position papers and guidance
Lead or support accounting‐related projects and strategic initiatives across the Group
Serve as a trusted counterpart for external auditors and advisors on technical accounting matters
Support the analysis and assessment of key differences between IFRS and US GAAP and their impact on the Group's accounting and reporting framework
Qualifications
University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, ideally with a focus on Accounting and Auditing
Several years of relevant professional experience within Audit, Group Accounting or Accounting Advisory in an international environment
Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of IFRS and a genuine interest in complex technical accounting topics
Ability to translate technical accounting requirements into practical and business‐oriented solutions
Self‐driven and proactive working style with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Team‐oriented personality with the confidence to interact effectively across all organizational levels
Exposure to US GAAP and/or experience working in an international multi‐GAAP reporting environment would be considered an asset, but is not essential
Fluent English skills, both written and spoken, are important, as English is the day‐to‐day working language of our team
