Offer Description
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with strong background on numerical simulations of fluid flows, development of algorithms and hydrodynamic stability theory.
The research to be carried out include:
* Development of solvers for direct numerical simulation of laminar-turbulent transition.
* Set-up, monitoring and post-processing of DNS simulations.
* Development and application of data-based analysis and modelling techniques (Wavelet transform, POD, DMD, SPOD)
* Advanced numerical methods for linear stability analysis of 2D/3D flows.

Skills/Qualifications
The candidate must have completed a Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, with the thesis topic being related to hydrodynamic stability analysis and/or laminar-turbulent transition. Previous experience with direct numerical simulation solvers and post-processing large amounts of time-resolved data is mandatory. Experience in the development of algorithms and codes for stability analysis (eigenmode problems, resolvent analysis, transient growth) or data-based low-dimensional models (POD, DMD) is also strongly valued.
