About BSC
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe). It now hosts EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large‑scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.
Context and Mission
The Accelerators and Communications for HPC Group leads cutting‑edge research and development around accelerators/coprocessors in HPC and high‑performance networking. The group collaborates closely with major vendors such as NVIDIA and Intel, organizes local and international events, and has recently received an ERC Consolidator Grant.
Key Duties
* Take the lead on some pieces of software, and assist on others
* Eventual system administration
* Experimental evaluations
* Work hand‑by‑hand with other researchers, students, and engineers in the group and in international collaborations
Requirements
* Education: BS/BE/MS/ME in a related field
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Good knowledge of C, C++ and Python
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: Previous experience (1–2 years) in development of privacy‑preserving machine‑learning software
* Competences: Good English level
Conditions
* The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department
* Full‑time contract (35 h/week) with a good working environment, state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance and relocation support
* Open‑ended contract linked to technical and scientific activities and budget duration
* Holidays: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24 th and 31 st of December per our collective agreement
* Salary: competitive and commensurate with qualifications, experience, and cost of living in Barcelona
* Starting date: 01/06/2026
