Tooling engineer

At DIS/CREADIS Spain, we are expanding our Mechanical Solutions & Services team.

We support clients across renewable energy, defence, and industrial manufacturing, helping solve demanding engineering challenges where system understanding and execution are critical.

As part of the international DIS/CREADIS Group, our team in Spain contributes to projects across Europe, North America, and Asia, delivering specialized solutions throughout the product lifecycle - from concept development and certification to operational optimization and site-specific engineering.

Your Role

As a Tooling Engineer, you will join a highly skilled team working on installation methods, tooling solutions, and mechanical systems supporting wind turbine technologies.

Combining hands-on engineering with close interaction with customers and colleagues, you will contribute to both consultancy assignments and full-scope solution delivery projects. Your work will span everything from concept development and design reviews to validation and implementation.

In addition to design activities, you will contribute to solving technical challenges and improving the way we work, helping ensure robust and efficient solutions for demanding environments.

Your Responsibilities

• Define and maintain installation processes and specifications in alignment with project and design requirements.
• Design, develop, and validate installation tools for one of our Wind Turbine clients while balancing requirements from Engineering, Operations, QHSE, and Sourcing.
• Translate lessons learned from wind farms into improvements that strengthen future turbine designs.
• Analyse product characteristics and establish installation methods and tooling concepts.
• Participate in product development activities and provide input from an installation perspective.
• Develop and maintain installation manuals and technical documentation.
• Support incident resolution and improvement activities related to installation processes and tools.
• Travel occasionally to wind farms and manufacturing facilities to validate new tools and turbine prototypes.

Who We're Looking for

You are an engineer who enjoys turning complexity into practical solutions and thrives when technical challenges require both analytical thinking and a hands-on approach.

You likely bring:

• 3–5 years of experience in tooling design, ideally within the wind turbine installation industry.
• A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with mechanical design of machinery, industrial equipment, or other complex systems.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, Inventor, or similar.
• A system-level mindset and the ability to understand how components interact within larger assemblies.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices, including DfM, DfA, validation, and verification.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach, combined with the confidence to take ownership and contribute to technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in English within an international environment.
