We are looking for an exceptional Principal to lead the next stage of the school’s development and growth.
The Role
The Principal is the educational, strategic and operational leader of Escola Global, responsible for the overall success, coherence and continuous improvement of the whole school across Early Years, Primary and Secondary.
This role combines academic leadership, organisational management and external representation, ensuring the school delivers a high-quality British international education while complying with Spanish educational regulations and the requirements of the Balearic educational authorities.
The Principal will act as the visible face of the school, representing Escola Global with prospective families, current parents, staff, external partners and regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will help strengthen the school’s culture, support sustainable growth and ensure Escola Global continues developing as a coherent, ambitious and high-performing international school community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Lead the strategic direction of the school, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision, values and long-term development.
* Develop, implement and regularly review the School Development Plan in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and ownership.
* Ensure that the school maintains high standards of British international education and remains aligned with relevant accreditation bodies and frameworks.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and accountability across all areas of the school.
* Ensure that the organisational structure of the school supports clear leadership, responsibility and effective decision-making.
Academic Leadership
* Ensure coherence and continuity of the curriculum across all stages of the school: Early Years (EYFS), Primary and Secondary.
* Provide strategic oversight of teaching and learning, ensuring high academic standards and excellent student outcomes.
* Support and challenge Heads of Department/Stage in the development of their academic programmes.
* Ensure effective systems are in place for assessment, monitoring progress and improving attainment.
* Promote innovative approaches to teaching and learning that enhance student engagement and achievement.
Leadership and Management
* Lead and coordinate the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
* Line‑manage the Heads of Early Years, Primary and Secondary, providing guidance, support and accountability.
* Ensure strong collaboration and communication between departments.
* Establish clear systems for decision‑making, operational effectiveness and organisational coherence.
* Ensure policies and procedures support the strategic priorities and smooth operation of the school.
Community and External Relations
* Act as the public face of the school, representing the institution to prospective families, current parents, staff and external partners.
* Support the admissions and marketing processes, meeting prospective families and communicating the school’s vision and educational offering.
* Maintain strong relationships with families and act as the senior point of contact for significant concerns or complaints.
* Represent the school with educational authorities, regulatory bodies and external organisations.
* Promote the school’s reputation and visibility within the local and international community.
Staff Development and Professional Culture
* Foster a professional culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.
* Support leadership development across the school, mentoring current and aspiring leaders.
* Work with the SLT to ensure effective performance management and professional development systems.
* Identify and nurture emerging leadership talent within the school.
* Promote staff wellbeing and a positive working environment.
School Culture and Student Wellbeing
* Promote a strong and inclusive school culture aligned with the school’s values.
* Ensure that student wellbeing, pastoral care and safeguarding remain central to school life.
* Encourage a school environment where students feel supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their potential.
* Strengthen the sense of community across all stages of the school.
Accountability
* Is accountable to the School Ownership and Business Manager.
* Works in close collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.
* Is subject to the school’s Questions, Concerns and Complaints Policy, as are all staff.
Who we are looking for
Qualifications
* Degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
* Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
* Additional leadership qualification desirable (NPQH or equivalent).
Experience
* Significant experience in educational leadership in an international school environment.
* Experience working with the British curriculum.
* Understanding of the Spanish education system and regulatory framework for international schools.
* Proven ability to lead teams and manage organisational change.

Working Conditions
* Full‑time leadership position.
* Presence on campus required to ensure effective leadership across all departments.
* Staff are contracted under the Spanish Convenio for Private Education and the conditions set out in the employment contract.
