Job Description
AECOM Spain Building Services Engineering team is a highly qualified group of professionals experts in offering the best solutions to international client’s needs all around the world. Our building services engineers are at the forefront of their discipline for the design of the mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) systems required for the safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly operation of buildings.
As part of the continued growth of our business, we are looking to hire an experienced Senior HVAC Engineering Designer to lead and deliver outstanding mechanical engineering projects. These projects span a diverse range of construction sectors including among others, Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Leisure, Aviation, Commercial and Defense.
As a Senior HVAC Engineer, you will be expected to:
* Guide and lead technical design throughout the project lifecycle.
* Coordinate mechanical system design with electrical engineers, architects, and other design professionals.
* Design HVAC, Controls and Plumbing facilities.
* Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP).
* Perform calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and field investigations.
* Perform studies to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of design alternatives, and recommend alternatives for implementation.
* Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections, and details.
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.
* Go to site visits, and conduct construction inspections as needed.
* Engage regularly with the Client and different stakeholders to build and maintain positive collaborative relationships.
Qualifications
* BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar field is essential.
* Strong technical background, minimum 10 years of related HVAC/Mechanical Design Engineering experience for different kinds of buildings.
* Good knowledge in international regulations and standards (AHSRAE, IMC, BS, CIBSE, etc).
* Proficiency in engineering calculation software such as HAP, Cype, Lider, Calener and/or any other similar software. Knowledge in IES will be a plus.
* Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
* Plumbing and Fire Protection systems design experience is a plus.
* Experience with Revit will be an asset.
* Leadership skills will be essential for this role.
* Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early design phases.
