At The Roadmap, we’ve helped over 300 Irish businesses grow rapidly, and we’re expanding into the UK, Spain, and beyond. As our team grows, we’re seeking a skilled, experienced, and reliable Senior Web Developer to join our core website delivery team.
This hybrid freelance role is based in Madrid, requiring 2 days per week in our central Madrid office, with the remainder remote. There is a clear pathway to transition into a full-time role with increased responsibilities and leadership opportunities over time.
You will work on a variety of websites, primarily WordPress and Shopify, bringing technical excellence, problem-solving skills, and long-term thinking to each project.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Build and maintain websites on WordPress and Shopify
* Handle complex technical tasks, including integrations and performance fixes
* Provide clear, quick responses to internal questions and occasional client email communication via managers
* Support hosting setups, domain transfers, backups, and email configurations
* Resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring timely project delivery
* Stay updated with modern web UI, automation tools, and AI in web development
* Collaborate with an experienced team that has worked together for 3+ years
This Role Is For Someone Who…
* Has 5+ years of hands-on web development experience, ideally 7-10 years
* Is fluent in WordPress and Shopify, with extensive client website experience
* Understands hosting platforms like Hostinger, SiteGround, and others, and can deploy websites
* Communicates clearly and honestly, explaining technical issues without jargon
* Can work independently within a long-term team focused on building smart systems
* Delivers high-quality work without cutting corners or overcomplicating
* Wants to grow with a team that values good work, trust, and integrity
