ROLE SUMMARY :
King’s College School, La Moraleja, one of Inspired’s flagship schools, is seeking to appoint an inspiring, collaborative, and forward-thinking Teacher of Music on a permanent basis for a late August 2025 start. The successful candidate will teach Music to pupils aged 9 to 16 (Years 6 to 11), including IGCSE exam classes.
Located in Madrid’s most exclusive neighbourhood, King’s La Moraleja is a private British school that combines academic rigour with a strong sense of community to deliver a transformative education. As Teacher of Music, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom teaching while also contributing to the cultural life of the school through music showcases and enrichment opportunities. You will work alongside the Head of Performing Arts to ensure consistently excellent standards and foster a lifelong love of music in all students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum and IGCSE (Edexcel Pearson).
* Lead on the development of music curriculum resources and department planning.
* Organise and direct music performances, either independently or collaboratively with the Drama department.
* Support high standards of teaching and learning through effective quality assurance processes.
* Provide pastoral care and support the school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing policies.
* Teach a maximum of 24 lessons per week and participate in cover duties, cycle tests, and assemblies as needed.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE :
* At least 2 years’ experience teaching the British National Curriculum in the UK or abroad (desirable)
* Evidence of outstanding teaching and strong academic results
* Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students through innovative teaching
* A collaborative, professional mindset and willingness to engage in ongoing CPD
* Experience working with pupils with a range of learning and emotional needs
* Strong ICT skills and an ability to analyse data to drive progress
