We’re partnering with a fast-rising mobile game studio: 12 exceptional creators building out of Barcelona, Spain. They already have top-tier talent and strong funding backing their vision. Now we need the tech leader who turns bold creativity into rock-solid Unity experiences. Build smart. Optimize hard. Lead the next wave.
We’re looking for a Lead Unity Developer who doesn’t just write great code, but designs the technical backbone, crushes mobile performance limits, and empowers a team to turn creative ideas into unforgettable player experiences. Someone who can balance architecture, craft, leadership, and real shipping momentum; without losing that instinct for making gameplay feel amazing.
If you love taking ownership, solving hard problems, and leading game tech that pops on every device, your next level starts here.
What You’ll Lead & Build:
* Architect and deliver core gameplay frameworks, internal tools, and runtime systems with an emphasis on scalability and long-term maintainability
* Define and enforce engineering standards, coding practices, and technical planning for Unity-based mobile projects
* Partner with art, design, and tech-art teams to transform prototypes and visual targets into optimized, shippable game features
* Drive mobile performance strategies, including memory budgeting, profiling, batching systems, render optimization (URP), and build stability
* Champion pipeline improvements that empower teams through editor tooling, automated workflows, and build process ownership (CI/CD, automation, or equivalent)
* Lead problem-solving for complex technical challenges and production risks before they impact release goals
* Mentor, onboard, and influence the growth of engineers, as well as support hiring as the team expands.
Your Technical Foundation:
* 7+ years of Unity development experience with released mobile titles
* Advanced C# expertise, gameplay logic design, and performance optimization
* Experience owning architecture for full game cycles, including iteration, polish, live testing, and post-launch stability
* Solid understanding of mobile-forward rendering workflows in URP, performance impacts, and artistic integration constraints.
* Strong systems thinking and communication skills, able to guide engineers, align stakeholders, and support creative problem-solving
* A passion for player experience, polish, and building games that feel incredible to play.
Bonus Skills That Stand Out:
* Shipped experience with multiplayer, arcade, or highly dynamic gameplay loops (roguelite, action, or tool-driven game modes)
* Knowledge in shaders, VFX Graph, VFX workflows, stylized pipelines, animation systems, or procedural/AI-enhanced content tooling
* Some track record of mentoring or guiding developers
* Tools, Tech & Culture: they build with Unity (URP), C#, GitHub, Git, and 3D packages like Blender/Maya/Maya equivalents, supported by custom stylization tools and internal pipelines. More than the tool stack, what matters is a mindset that values ownership, collaboration, craft, and creative execution.
