We are seeking 2 Biological Operation Technicians to join our Seeds to Seeds team in the Vegetables Business Unit at Syngenta.
One will be responsible for internal planting at the El Ejido station, handling distribution, plant coordination, traceability of markers and discards, incident reporting, re-planting, managing human and material resources, and communicating crop needs. The other will prepare external trial sowings, ensuring trial traceability, maintaining seed health, and coordinating seed activities between El Ejido, Murcia, and external locations.
You will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and supervising seed activities while striving for operational excellence through digital transformation and material tracking.
Accountabilities
1. Execute seed activities in Veg. (planting, pollination, harvesting, disinfection, packaging, processing, storage chamber updating) and collaborate across departments.
2. Ensure pollination adheres to Syngenta rules, supporting responsible parties.
3. Coordinate seed disinfection and heat treatment procedures to ensure optimal material condition.
4. Plan and execute weekly, monthly, and annual activities using VEGA, our digital planning tool, managing people and third-party resources.
5. Monitor processes and facilities to maintain seed quality and logistics.
6. Optimize deliveries, resource allocation, and function alignment through KPI performance.
7. Manage seed quality and organize demands based on weekly planning.
8. Support departments and projects within Vegetable R&D stations.
9. Ensure seed traceability on-site and influence activities externally.
10. Comply with ISO 9001:2008, GSPP, and HSE standards.
Qualifications
1. Educational background in agricultural sciences or related field.
2. Knowledge of seed processes, production, and pollination.
3. Experience in seed technology and trial management.
4. Strong relationship-building skills with departments such as Breeders, Marketing, Sales, and Farm staff.
5. Flexibility to adapt to changes and make clear decisions in ambiguous situations.
6. Continuous improvement mindset and positive approach.
7. Innovative thinking and ability to work in multifunctional teams to develop solutions.
8. Certified as a Pesticide Applicator.
