Description
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, recording those into the financial software, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and preparing financial reports. The Accountant reports into the Regional Financial Controller, Iberia and is a member of the regional team.

Key Responsibilities
Accountancy
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations and proactively resolve discrepancies.
* Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, under Spanish GAAP and IFRS GAAP.
* Manage accounts payable.
* Coordinate the purchase ordering process for the school to ensure supplies and materials are delivered as needed.
* Review and propose supplier invoices payments, to be approved by the Regional Financial Controller.
* Tax: record and reconcile taxes into the financial software (VAT, Withholding tax, SII report and Social Security).
* Process month end and year end accounting.
* Ensure month end deadlines are met.
* Ensure financial statements are accurately stated.
* Coordinate the information flow with schools to secure supplier information is received in time and through the official channels.
* Expenses Tracking: Monitor and record personal and company expenses, ensuring proper documentation.
* Manage Capex module through the financial software and reconciliation within the accountancy.
* Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and account analysis.
* Prepare and lead quarterly balance sheet reviews.
* Support the preparation of monthly financial reports.
* Assist with the audit, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
* Support the financial budgeting and forecasting.
* Ad hoc tasks and responsibilities, as required by the role.
School Partnering
* Participate in review calls or face to face meetings with the schools Heads of Finance, FP&A, AR team and school management teams to provide an overall understanding of matters impacting school performance against budgets, forecasts and year and over performance.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Professional Qualified Accountant.
* Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications is needed, particularly Excel.
* Prior experience in using NetSuite/PBCS applications or any other ERP systems would be advantageous.
* Ability to build good working relationships with all members and levels of the organization.
* A methodical, highly organized approach to the execution of assigned tasks and responsibilities.
* Positive, proactive, passionate, personable, results oriented, ambitious professional who is keen to progress within a global organization.
* Strong organizational, time-management skills and an ability to deal with shifting priorities.
* Dealing with external advisors (suppliers, auditors, tax etc).
* Previous experience in a multinational environment is desirable.
* Fluent written and spoken Spanish is a requirement. English language skills are an advantage.
* Ability to handle confidential information with maturity and discretion.
* Capacity to take initiative and solve problems, supported by the Head of Finance.
