BU Recycling is one of Hydro’s strategic growth pillars with ambitious targets in use of post consumed scrap for our production of green high-quality products. Business unit Recycling within Aluminium Metal operates seven recycling plants and a scrap sorting plant, and we are aiming for no less than industry leadership in aluminium recycling.
We are looking for a Production Manager to join our Recycling plant in Azuqueca, Guadalajara (Spain).
As a key member of the management team, the Production Manager leads and manages the production Department of the Azuqueca plant, driving the development towards higher safety standards and increased quality and productivity in accordance with business goals.
**Responsibilities**

- Ensure that production processes are safe and executed according to procedures.
- Maintain the level of performance in the plant by auditing the processes.
- Ensure quality integrity of all products
- Maintain all quality controls of the production process, leaving the final product with the required documentation for quality assurance.
- Carry out and follow up operational control activities within the production process.
- Organize and optimize production in a sustainable and collaborative way.
- Supervise the production process in order to ensure that products are produced according to quality, schedule and cost.
- Ensure sustainable production of all products, to meet sales requirements, with optimum utilization of energy, labor and material resources.
- Achieve team development, elaborating and implementing training, professional development and job rotation programs, making the most of people's skills and optimizing the existing resources in the plant.
- Manage relationships with other departments to ensure fast, flexible and efficient operations in their areas.
- Coordinate, lead and implement improvement projects.
- Leading, controlling, training and securing the necessary resources to make the process efficient and productive.
- Manage the operations process to achieve continuous improvement objectives by using LEAN/Six Sigma tools.
- 5S, deployment of 5S tools within the production areas and monitoring of the different phases and improvements, support to the shifts for the achievement of objectives.
- Coordinate activities with other areas or departments, such as maintenance or HSE, to ensure that their area of responsibility is functioning properly.
- Update work standards in the areas of Safety, Environment, Quality, Production and Maintenance together with the rest of the support areas.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and licenses.
- Responsible for production reporting both internally in the plant and towards the organization, assist and represent the plant towards Hydro's support departments.
- Promote and ensure a good working and collaborative environment, as well as interpersonal relations in the shifts and with the rest of the factory, following Hydro's values.
- Troubleshoot unplanned or unforeseen tasks
**Required Competence**
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in production / manufacturing
- HSE mindset and dedication
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar.
- Knowledge of aluminium production is a benefit.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Resolute and able to identify the root cause of problems and look for alternative paths focusing on solutions.
