**Role Purpose**We are looking for a Sr. Accounting and Tax Analyst to join Thomson Reuters Latin America General Accounting Operations (AO) located in San Jose (Heredia), Costa Rica. The AO is a key element of the company's strategy to leverage best practices, support future acquisitions and growth, and streamline processes and activities across the organization and the world to return value to our customers by becoming more effective and efficient. This is a growing organization where exceptional individuals can make a lasting impact on the company and develop through challenging assignments.This position is responsible for performing tax compliance activities (including but not limited to data gathering, revision before submitting, tax account reconciliation, GL account balance analysis for tax compliance purposes, etc.) for US entities and foreign entities registered in USA on a monthly basis and partners with other departments to leverage systems and resources.**Responsibilities**- Gathering tax liability data and reconciliation with automatic/manual GL accounts.- Overview and revision of tax data information for accuracy and completeness before submitting third party providers.- Preparing/approval journal entries.- Ability to understand GL account movements.- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with partnering organizations (internal and external third-party providers) by providing regular and frequent communications.- Assist in monthly financial reporting; prepare analysis of accounts as requested.- Assist in projects on process improvements.- Provide training to other team members.**Technical / Professional Skills & Competencies**- At least 5 years of professional accounting experience with multi-national companies.- Knowledge of common accounting procedures.- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a competence in presenting in a professional and influential manner.- Attention to fine detail and demonstrate high-level of accuracy.- Enterprise resource planning ERP software — for example, SAP, Oracle, BEx, BlackLine.- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).- Proficiency in English.- Portuguese preferred but not required.**Certifications / Education**Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required, OR equivalent qualification OR significant development after specialized vocational training OR substantial professional development after High School Degree.**Behavioral Competencies**- Strong collaboration skills and effective in a team environment; proven ability to effectively transfer knowledge to build team competence.- Highly responsive and committed to results with a strong customer orientation.- Driving Results.- Thinking Globally.- Collaborating across Boundaries.- Problem Solving.- Organizing as well as prioritizing ability.- Ability to work independently.Do you want to be part of a team helping re-invent the way knowledge professionals work?
