Job Description:

What's the role

The Wells Construction Lead role will report to the Wells Construction Manager and support the execution of Operations Brownfields civil, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects throughout QGC Upstream. This includes providing guidance and support to the field Civil Maintenance Operations Team by:

* Managing field staff and contractors engaged in civil maintenance and rehabilitation activities on lease pads, access roads, gathering and trunklines, ponds, and facilities (CPP/FCS).

* Ensure a safety-first culture to project delivery based on Goal Zero safety leadership.

* Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with QGC policies, procedures, and work practices—especially with respect to health, safety, security, environment, and Cultural Heritage requirements.

* Implementing change management and supervisory processes across all maintenance and rehabilitation matters within projects.

* Providing regular reports on project status, contractor and subcontractor performance, resource allocation, safety, environmental compliance, scheduling, and project support.

* Driving continuous improvement and increasing efficiency in field operations.

What you'll be doing

Safety & Compliance

* Ensure safety has the highest priority and is at the forefront of planning, execution and in all dealings with contractors.

* Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement the safety management system and legislative requirements and that they are fully complied with.

* Act as Site Safety Manager for designated areas

* Ensure all contractor and service providers are fully conversant in QGC's safety expectations.

Functional Activities

* Apply working knowledge of Australian Standards, QGC procedures and Civil Construction and Maintenance Best Practices.

* Ensure Civil maintenance Quality Assurance documentation is up to date and being followed by the Contractors (ITP's, testing requirements, specifications and procedures)

* Work closely with the QGC Construction Manager and Civil Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and under budget.

* Apply working knowledge of Civil maintenance techniques for varying civil scope (Roads, Well Pads, Hardstands, Bulk Earthworks, Ponds, Facilities, Drainage, Gravel Pits, Gravel material selection).

* Apply working knowledge of Civil maintenance machinery to ensure QGC is getting value for money from Contractors.

* Manage civil maintenance contractors for the delivery of project work.

* Contribute to the identification of risks to project delivery and eliminate these risks or implement mitigation measures.

* Ensure maintenance and rehabilitation planning is performed in a timely manner to meet requirements of QGC planning process.

* Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for maintenance, rehabilitation and operational issues

* Manage and monitor daily maintenance and rehabilitation operations.

* Manage contracts as a Contract Holder for relevant contractors

* Manage bi-annual business performance (BPR) reviews with contractors to review compliance and performance against the contract KPI's - HSSE, cost, delivery, social performance and quality.

* Discuss value creation ideas and cost savings initiatives to reduce project waste

* Monitor performance and provide monthly cost reports.

* Manage budget forecasts and associated documentation.

* Ensure contractors are managed in accordance with the contract.

* Be part of Emergency Response Team as directed per operating area.

This is a Monday to Friday (5-2) role based in Chinchilla.

What you bring

Experience

* Significant experience in civil construction, maintenance and/or rehabilitation on large gas projects.

* Proven experience with safety management systems and the application of HSSE principles on construction, maintenance and rehabilitation projects

* Proven experience managing Operations interfaces and overseeing teams to achieve outcomes.

* Proven experience managing contractors in line with a contract requirement (safety, environmental commitments, quality, schedule and budgets).

* Proven experience dealing with external parties i.e. landowners etc.

* Proven experience in project control and reporting systems

* Proven experience in managing teams over large geographical areas.

Knowledge, Skills Attributes

* Significant experience in Oil & Gas civil maintenance and rehabilitation activities on the lease pads, access roads, gathering and trunklines, ponds and facilities (CPP/FCS).

* Knowledge of construction / civil maintenance standards and regulations.

* Understanding of the designated processes, systems and plant operations to enable the safe and successful completion of the works.

* Ability to engage and motivate teams.

* Strong commitment to Safety and Environment.

* Ability to deliver a safe and committed team culture and meet project targets and priorities

* Ability to manage a team of diverse disciplines in engineering, supervision, labour and vendor personnel to deliver a safe and completed project.

* A good communicator (open, direct and honest).
