As a high-level product technology expert, you provide the best technical consulting and solutions for customer applications to the sales teams, independent of industry segments, with a strong focus on technologies. You take commercial considerations fully into account when proposing solutions. You have turnover responsibility but not customer responsibility. You prepare detailed technical proposals of application-based solutions during the Pre-Sales phase.
Key tasks:
1. Onsite customer support for prototype startups to conduct "proof of concept," with good working knowledge of third-party PLC software, network configuration, and device integration, including product sizing and selection.
2. Serve as the main interface to Concept Engineers (Customer/Festo) for pre-defining technical concepts and to technical support engineers.
3. Discuss technical proposals to optimize machine performance, with a focus on increasing component sales.
4. Provide onsite technical product training for customers during installation.
5. Offer technical support to sales and customers on applications across industry segments.
6. Focus on the commercial (cost of ownership) and technical feasibility of proposals, based on deep technical product knowledge.
7. Propose component and system-based solutions, mainly using standard products, in accordance with regulations (e.g., Machinery Directive).
8. Create technical solutions considering all relevant technical interfaces.
9. During the pre-sales phase, act as a technical product expert, in close coordination with the sales engineer.
10. Provide best practices (e.g., application notes) for multiplying standard applications and lessons learned for future opportunities.
11. Support and provide input to ISM and BU regarding product gaps and questions of norms and regulations.
12. Identify and win projects based on excellent product and application knowledge. Support project commissioning at the customer site in close alignment with the technical support engineer.
