Akens Nordburg is seeking a
Business Development Manager (m/f)
for an international company specializing in trenchless systems, aimed at liaising with water network operators, engineering firms, and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineered solutions for trenchless renovation of pressure pipes in Spain and Portugal. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience in Business Development within the trenchless industry in Spain or Portugal, along with a strong technical background in construction and cultural sensitivity for effective stakeholder communication. The position reports directly to the Director of Business Development Europe based in Germany.
Job Responsibilities:
Educate network operators and engineering firms about trenchless rehabilitation.
Provide engineering support for design, project planning, scheduling, and execution of pressure pipe rehabilitation projects.
Create technical specifications and quotations in collaboration with the Head Office.
Assist network operators and contractors throughout all phases of rehabilitation projects, including on-site supervision.
Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and roadshows.
Identify channels to promote products and meet sales targets.
Manage certified partners within the territory actively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Civil Engineer or related field with at least 5 years of experience in trenchless pipe rehabilitation.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with engineering firms, contractors, and network operators.
Proven success in marketing products within the construction industry and achieving sales targets.
Fluent in Spanish (native) and English;
Portuguese language skills are desirable.
Structured, analytical, and self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
Willingness to travel within Spain and Portugal regularly.
Demonstrated loyalty and integrity in previous roles.
Place of Work:
The candidate will work remotely, preferably based in Madrid or nearby, with regular travel within Spain and Portugal. Occasional travel to Germany for meetings, such as the annual sales conference, will be required.
