Role Overview
As an AWS Cloud Engineer (Systems), you will ensure the secure, reliable, and scalable operation of workloads across AWS environments. Your primary focus is system administration, operational automation, and platform reliability. You will work closely with platform, network, database, and security teams to maintain a stable and secure cloud environment.This role combines AWS infrastructure operations, system hardening, automation, and monitoring to ensure operational excellence across our global cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Cloud Operations
1. Operate and continuously improve AWS environments including governance, monitoring, logging, and cost management
2. Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes using Terraform and scripting (Python/Bash)
3. Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes, including root-cause analysis and remediation
Systems Engineering
4. Administer and harden Linux and Windows workloads running on AWS EC2 and container platforms
5. Manage patching, configuration management, and OS baselining
6. Implement and maintain IAM access models, secrets management, and certificate lifecycle management
7. Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions using CloudWatch
8. Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
Automation & Reliability
9. Automate repetitive operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code and scripting
10. Improve platform reliability through backup strategies, DR readiness, and operational automation
11. Familiarity with container orchestration (ECS / EKS) and serverless technologies
12. Support continuous improvement of cloud operations and platform stability
Skills & Experience
13. Several years of experience as AWS Cloud Engineer, System Administrator, or Cloud Operations Engineer
14. Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, SSM, EKS, ECR, S3
15. Solid Linux and Windows administration skills
16. Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and automation scripting
17. Strong troubleshooting and operational mindset
18. Experience working in regulated environments is a plus
