Position Summary
The Northern Europe Market Budget Manager is a dedicated finance and operations role responsible for managing the end-to-end marketing investment envelope for Northern Europe. This individual acts as the financial steward for the marketing organization, ensuring governance, and optimization of OPEX and alliance funds, and driving cross-functional coordination with Category, Sales, Alliance and WW GTM teams. The role is pivotal in enabling the "One HP" plan, supporting business growth, and maintaining fiscal discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Budget Strategy & Business Management
- Own the relationship with Finance, Category, and WW GTM for budget alignment and investment planning.
- Ensure budgets are accurate, up to date and accessible to the local teams on a timely manner for activation.
- Clearly and professionally communicate any budget changes to local teams, ensuring they understand the source, purpose, and rationale behind each adjustment.
- Ensure teams spend their budgets according to HP financial policies; monitor spend and flag any potential risks or compliance issues.
- Build and manage scenarios (baseline, stretch, cut) and propose rebalances by country, BU, and audience to protect growth KPIs.
- Lead quarterly budget reviews.
Funding Source Management
- Orchestrate the mix across OPEX and Alliance funds (MDF/CCF/SMF), including Jumpstart programs and contra-to-OPEX flows.
- Secure and track alliance approvals, reflecting changes in BMT loads and PO plans
- Maintain spend controls, audit trails, and documentation to pass Finance/Procurement checks.
Systems, Loading & Cadence
- Load and maintain activities in BMT with correct fund selectors, campaign categories, and country splits.
- Govern PO opening/closure timing and ensure all budget is spent and accounted for by month-end, aligned to HP's fiscal calendar cadence.
Execution Governance & Controls
- Prevent leakage or mis-coding between OPEX vs. alliances, ensuring audit-ready documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Interface regularly with Category, Sales, Channel/Trade Marketing, and WW GTM; align budgets to game plan priorities and alliance guardrails.
- Partner with local budget owners to confirm country splits and expedite loads.
- Ensure the voice of the business is reflected in all investment decisions.
- Provide training and guidance to local teams on budget processes, systems, and HP financial policies.
