Overview
Therapeutic Specialist, HIV at Gilead Sciences Inc. is a role focused on commercializing breakthrough medicines for HIV, with strong emphasis on patient access, market development, and cross-functional collaboration to support local brand plans and regional objectives.
Responsibilities
* Prepare business plan regional and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV, communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans.
* Identify and map patient referral journey pathways within the HIV territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
* Aim to achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
* Collaborate with Regional Market Access, Medical, and Marketing colleagues to ensure local access for HIV Gilead medicines.
* Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and key opinion leaders. Set and achieve customer contact plans and related KPIs.
* Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
* Represent the company at professional events and promote products as appropriate.
* Work cross-functionally with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on various projects.
* Identify and communicate issues and opportunities to Marketing and Sales management.
* Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.G., updating customer database, expenses).
* Meet competency requirements and comply with country regulations and code of conduct. Travel and overnight stays may be required depending on location.
Knowledge, experience and skills
* Passion for commercializing breakthrough medicines with a customer-centric approach and strong commercial mindset.
* Prior pharmaceutical industry experience required;
experience in HIV is preferred.
* Scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma, or similar is required.
* Established contacts with relevant customers;
solid scientific knowledge and ability to stay current with emerging data.
* Ability to digest publications and talks;
understanding of how HIV services are delivered.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build internal and external relationships and to communicate with senior stakeholders.
* Ability to develop relationships with key opinion leaders and influence at senior levels.
* Experience in account planning and cross-functional account management;
self-motivated with autonomy.
* Familiarity with industry trends and competitive practices;
strong analytical skills to interpret information and provide recommendations.
* Ability to work in cross-functional teams;
willingness to travel.
