JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
The Delivery Driver III is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer to deliver food and restaurant supplies to customers within a designated region. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and established delivery routes.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working order.
* Product Delivery:
* Deliver food products to customers accurately and on time, ensuring product integrity and maintaining proper temperature control.
* Load and unload product safely and efficiently, utilizing appropriate equipment (e.g., hand carts, dollies).
* Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
* Customer Service:
* Provide excellent customer service to all customers, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
* Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
* Documentation & Compliance:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery records, including invoices and driver logs.
Skills
* Customer Service: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) repeatedly.
* Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
Certifications
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
3+ years of experience
Physical Demands
* Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) repeatedly.
* Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, and reach frequently.
* Ability to work in various weather conditions.
