Key Accountabilities
- Operations Leadership & Monitoring: Serve as the senior technical resource during assigned shifts; monitor and manage electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems; lead response to alarms, events, and abnormal conditions; conduct facility walkthroughs and validate system performance; lead shift turnovers and status communications.
- Electrical & Mechanical Systems Execution: Operate and maintain UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, and RPPs; operate and support chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and valves; execute system switching, load transfers, and isolations per approved procedures; identify system deficiencies and single points of failure.
- Maintenance & Change Management: Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities; review, validate, and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs; participate in change management and risk assessments; oversee vendor activities and verify post-maintenance restoration.
- Safety, Compliance & Risk Management: Enforce LOTO, electrical safety, arc-flash, and PPE requirements; participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and review operational logs and maintenance records; contribute to procedures and technical documentation.
- Training, Mentorship & Development: Mentor junior technicians and new hires; support qualification programs and skill assessments.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical operations; strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems; ability to read one-line diagrams and OEM documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field; industry or OEM certifications; experience with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and CMMS platforms; prior leadership or acting-lead experience.
