About The Role
We are hiring a Commissioning Editor to join Springer Nature in either London or Madrid In this role, you will commission and develop appropriate, profitable, and high-quality ELT content (print or digital) from concept to publication as per the publishing plan. This involves commissioning authors and contributors and working closely with overseas markets, marketing, and project teams to develop content that meets market needs, on schedule and within budget.
You will collaborate with the Publisher, Senior Commissioning Editor, Product, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Production teams to ensure the publishing meets audience needs and aligns with pre-press investment.
Role Responsibilities
1. Market awareness/research
* Schedule and plan market research aligned with the publishing plan.
* Conduct research to ensure projects align with the publishing vision and business needs.
* Monitor other publishers' materials for potential impact.
