And we're agile, which means you can make a difference with your career, while learning, growing and having fun!OPPORTUNITY SUMMARYThe On-Site Data Engineer in Malvern, PA works with our IT and Software Development teams, playing a key role in administering, maintaining, optimizing, analyzing, and architecting both Cenero developed and Cenero supported applications and systems. This position is multifaceted requiring a dynamic blend of database administration, data engineering, data analytics, and data science to ensure our data remains reliable, secure, and optimized for various business applications.Cenero is unable to offer H1B sponsorship, transfer over H1B sponsorship, or transfer any employment visas at this time.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus3+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or related fields.Strong expertise in SQL, SSIS, PowerShell, Python, and data modeling.Proficiency in SQL Server and MySQL database administration and troubleshooting.Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Synapse, Azure Stream, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Talend, etc.Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services. Azure preferred.Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Zoho). Power BI and DAX preferred.Familiar with Database analysis tools such as SolarWinds.Proficiency with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.Some experience with code versioning tools such as Git preferred.Some experience with machine learning workflows and MLOps concepts preferred. Certifications in AWS, Azure, CompTIA or GCP preferred.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and store data efficiently.Develop and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and databases for structured and unstructured data.Implement best practices for data modeling, storage, indexing, and retrieval.Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data solutions into applications, APIs and services.Automate data workflows, monitoring, and alerting to ensure data integrity and performance.Manage and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases to support business operations and analytics.Ensure data security, compliance, and access control for all data assets.Monitor database performance and optimize queries for speed and efficiency.Work closely with analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure accessibility.Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models and reports.Support predictive analytics and machine learning workflows by ensuring clean, well-structured data.Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Define and maintain data governance policies to ensure data consistency and quality.Contribute to the development of a modern data stack, evaluating new tools and technologies.Design, document, diagram and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures that align with business needs.Adaptability to switch between various tools based on business needs, such as transitioning from SQL to MongoDB or utilizing new tools in Azure or GCP.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.3+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or related fields.Strong expertise in SQL, SSIS, PowerShell, Python, and data modeling.Proficiency in SQL Server and MySQL database administration and troubleshooting.Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Synapse, Azure Stream, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Talend, etc..Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services. The work environment is 5 days a week, on-site in our Malvern, PA headquarters.This position may include occasional travel to other environments including Cenero offices, educational buildings, corporate office buildings, government locations, and construction sites. Ability to maintain focus and productivity on tasks for extended periods. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when necessary either in emergencies related to our systems or to meet project deadlines. Adaptability to switch between various tools based on business needs, such as transitioning from SQL to MongoDB or utilizing new tools in Azure or GCP. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be in or near that range. Individual pay is determined by different factors, including work experience, geographic location, job-related skills, education level, position specific technical certifications, and additional trainings completed.All health and wellness benefits will begin on Day 1 of employment.
